Cook Islands: Arrival, Rarotonga Beach Bungalows, Wigmore’s Store, Snorkeling, and Pizza at Moana Sands

Or just take a snooze

Or just take a snooze

Consider: You will arrive late on Saturday night, about 10:30 pm. If you are renting a car, you will want to arrange for the car to be available and waiting for you in the airport parking lot. RAROCARS will make this arrangement for you. The next morning, explore the area. If you are staying in the southern part of the island (our suggestion for best snorkeling) then take a long walk on the beach, get supplies at Wigmore’s Store, snorkel, get used to driving on the left side of the road 😊, or just take a snooze. Eat out, at least the first night. There are plenty of restaurants that are open on Sunday.

Dec 1, 2019: Marg’s Notes – Arrived in Rarotonga after a long but uneventful trip. I slept alright on the plane. The footrests came up to make a sort of bed. At customs they asked if we had proof that we had measles vaccines because there is an outbreak in Fiji. Jim had to pay $25 to clean dirt off his hiking boots ☹. Had breakfast @RBB & chatted w/Teoni & Mateata & met the baby Nanatoa. Went for a walk, then to the store (Wigmore’s). Came back & had a nap. After that, Rod, Pam & I hit the water for snorkeling for about 45 minutes, then had a shower & went to dinner next door at the Moana Sands. We had pizza, beer & wine.
